Welcome to Seacroft Grange Primary School. We are proud to be a Good school (Ofsted, February 2020). We are a school that invests in GOLD standard, wanting the best for and best from everyone in our learning community. Our philosophy is to nurture every child’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, developing both skills and confidence as they take their first steps on their own unique journey of lifelong learning.

We are really proud of our Early Years provision, and we work hard to give your child the very best start to their school life. Education in Early Years is focussed on developing your child to be confident, resilient and a problem solver. While we do focus on Reading, Writing and Maths as core subjects, these are taught through a play-based approach that encourages children to be active learners. Starting school is a big transition and one that we work hard to make sure is supportive and welcoming. We embrace natural resources and decoration in our early years' classroom, using wood, hessian and plants to create a calm, welcoming and home-like environment for our children. Inside, you'll find different areas of provision - maths, writing, reading, role play, science, water, sand, construction, a workshop and much more. A lot of the learning in Early years takes place outside and you will see exactly the same areas as you would inside plus a mud kitchen, water play, reading den and large construction and so much more.

Please take a look at our welcome videos; viewing the classroom, outdoor space, hall, library and areas our pupils use when they start at our school. This will support the transition process and allow them to become familiar with what will be their surroundings when they start here. We are also very proud of our developing nature school / calm circle for reflection time which takes place in our extensive outdoor space, which you will see in the video.

Early Years staff will be in touch throughout the summer term to begin getting to know you and your child through visits to their nursery or pre-school, stay and play sessions here and a Teddy Bear picnic where each child receives their own personal Seacroft Grange teddy. We aim to spend this time understanding who your child is and building a partnership.

Please see below for new starter information for 2023. Further details of the full transition process will be sent directly to families. We can't wait to meet you all.
